Time is a Gift
Being a mother of 4 children and running a restaurant, I often juggle with time. Time at work, time helping my children with homework, time at the bank, time at the grocery store, time at church, time driving to work and home, time trying to visit family and friends, time to read the bible, time to pray and so many more. Time is constantly ticking! Time doesn’t want to stop for me. It goes by so fast and I can’t seem to keep up.
Time won’t stop and travel backwards just so we can have another chance to redo the things we should have or wanted to do. From time to time we say “ I wish I had more then 24 hours in a day” There is no doubt that the responsibilities of this world crave for our attention. The endless things pulling us in different directions makes it easy for our time to get swallowed up in mundane day to day matters. Those matters that have eternal value are then often pushed aside.
In his letter to the Ephesians, Paul cautioned the church, “Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil” Ephesians 5:15-16. Living wisely involves using our time carefully. Knowing that time is rapidly passing us by, let us be diligent in how we should make better use of it.
Time is so precious, time is so valuable, Have you ever considered that time is a gift from God?
How are you using God’s gift in your life? Are you wasting time by staying angry at someone or rebuilding broken ones? Are you using your time with your eyes fixed onto your phone clicking “like” on Facebook or Instagram? Or is your time allotted to reading the bible? Are you using your time visiting a friend or family in need or spent at the mall updating yourself with the latest fashion? Are you over staying your time at work rather than home with loved ones? What is important to you? If it matters how you use your time, then now is the time to take this moment to pray.
Prayer: Lord I pray you help me learn to prioritize my time on what matters and remove any activities or distractions that should not be in my life. I ask all this in Your mighty Name, Amen!
I hope this devotion resonated with you in some way. Have a blessed week, friends!
